Shelly Flood Gen4 is a flood sensor that detects water exactly when it appears - under your dishwasher, washing machine, boiler or in the basement. With a long-range detection cable, built-in sounder and instant alerts, it helps prevent costly damage, while its compatibility with platforms such as Apple HomeKit, Google Home and Home Assistant makes it easy to integrate into your existing smart home system. Plus, its battery power and IP44 rating allow for installation in areas without access to a power outlet and with high humidity.

Flood detection and rain detection functions

The device offers two operating modes, so you can easily adapt it to your specific application. The flood detection mode is designed for critical areas - as soon as the sensor detects water in the line, it immediately triggers an alarm, which works well under the washing machine, dishwasher, boiler or in the basement. The rain detection works more discreetly: it records the increasing level of moisture on a surface, but does not generate an alarm, which works well, for example, on terraces or under canopies. In this mode, the device reacts to the first signs of precipitation, helping to protect outdoor equipment and furnishings.

Precision detection cable for small and large spaces

The 2-meter long flood detection cable provides a much longer range than a typical point sensor. It allows you to cover hard-to-reach areas with monitoring, while its linear design is particularly suitable for long pipe runs, built-in furniture or extended utility rooms. If necessary, you can connect its successive sections, reaching a total length of up to 150 m, making it possible to protect large areas or multiple points simultaneously.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee and Matter connectivity

The Shelly Flood Gen4 sensor works with various communication protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee) and is compatible with the Matter standard, allowing flexible integration with almost any home automation system. Three alarm styles for different operating scenarios

The Shelly Flood Gen4 has a built-in buzzer that emits a long beep when a flood is detected and short beeps when the battery is low. The sensor also offers three alarm modes that allow you to customize the leak alert to your space. Loud provides a quick and clear signal, Normal works well for everyday use, while Economy reduces energy consumption, which is especially useful in cottages, garages or other rarely visited facilities.

Battery power and installation freedom

The device is powered by four 1.5V AA batteries, which you will find in the package. It does not require any wiring and can be placed where there is no access to a power outlet - for example, under kitchen cabinets, in cupboards, near pipes or in utility rooms. In addition, the device has an IP44 protection rating, which means that it is resistant to moisture and splashes. As a result, the sensor will work well not only indoors, but also in semi-outdoor areas, such as terraces or areas under a canopy. Note: do not expose the device directly to rain - the main unit must be shielded and the exposure concerns only the detection cable.

Local automation and cooperation with external devices

The Gen4 Flood sensor supports local operating scenarios, enabling, among other things, automatic shutdown of equipment when water is detected. Integration with additional Shelly modules and third-party equipment allows you to create functional safety functions tailored to your space or system.

Control via app and built-in web interface

Flood Gen4 can be controlled via the Shelly Smart Control app and Shelly Cloud service, which allows remote access to the device from anywhere. It also features a built-in web interface that makes it easy to configure, monitor and adjust settings. No matter how you work, you always have full control over the sensor’s performance.

Under the dishwasher, washing machine, boiler or in the bathroom, the sensor detects even small leaks before they cause costly damage. Stretched along pipes, it allows monitoring of large sections of plumbing, while in basements or garages it reacts to the first signs of flooding. Thanks to the rain detection function, it can also be used in semi-outdoor areas, such as on terraces or under canopies, to react to sudden rainfall and protect garden furniture. The device will also prove useful in holiday homes and less frequently visited properties, where the economical mode allows for multi-month operation with minimal energy consumption.
